Pirate Art is a creative studio and product brand that reimagines prosthetics as wearable art.
Founded by Arsen Arsenović and Nikola Matić, the company creates custom prosthetic covers — or skins. Pirate Art grew from a personal idea into a creative product brand focused on aesthetic prosthetic covers and skins. Their work gives people the opportunity to express personality, identity, and style through a prosthesis, turning something often treated as purely functional into something personal, visible, and expressive.
When Pirate Art approached us, they had a bold idea and an extraordinary product line, but needed a digital foundation to match the quality and innovation of their designs.
[ Company overview ]
Pirate Art Beograd, founded by Arsen and Nikola in 2017 in Belgrade, is a pioneering startup offering custom-made aesthetic covers and skins for lower-limb prostheses. The company uses 3D modeling and thermoforming technologies combined with textile “skins” to deliver prosthetic overlays that are both functional and expressive.
With the goal of empowering amputees, enhancing self-confidence, and promoting social inclusion, Pirate Art positions its prosthetic covers as a distinct design and lifestyle accessory rather than a hidden medical device. Supported by innovation grants and active in the European market since 2018, the firm exemplifies how user-centered design, social mission, and advanced manufacturing converge in the accessibility fashion space.
[ Objective ]
Our shared goal was to help Pirate Art:
- Launch online with a clear, accessible, multilingual website
- Showcase their products and artistic collections visually
- Establish a professional, emotional connection with their audience
We focused on building an online space that treats design, disability, and self-expression with equal respect.
[ Our approach ]
Creative Brackets partnered with Pirate Art at a crucial early stage, helping them shape how the brand would present itself to the world. We began by designing a clean, multilingual website that introduced their innovative prosthetic covers with clarity and confidence. We also developed the full content structure and tone of voice in both English and Serbian.
As the product line expanded, we worked closely with the founders to define how each collection should be presented. Liquid Fire, Diamond Rain, and Magical Stones were each given their own visual narratives, crafted to highlight the personality and story behind their aesthetics. Through careful product categorization, messaging, and visual storytelling, we helped Pirate Art bring emotional context to a highly personal product.
Beyond the website itself, we created a marketing blueprint to guide future campaigns and media launches, ensuring Pirate Art had a strong foundation to grow its brand and reach users across Europe.
{ Design & communication approach }
We built the website around clarity, empathy, and elegance.
The interface highlights each prosthetic cover as artwork, photographed like a fashion piece rather than a medical product.
Every collection, from Liquid Sky to Black Obsidian, was given a short story and a visual identity that reflects its inspiration from art, nature, and technology.
{ Multilingual platform }
Accessibility was essential. We implemented a bilingual system that allowed both international press and local customers to explore Pirate Art’s story seamlessly.
This positioned the brand not just as a product maker, but as a design voice for inclusion and self-expression.
{ Visual storytelling }
Product photography and design documentation were key.
Each skin was photographed like couture fashion: bold lighting, minimal background, and attention to material texture. These visuals became the backbone of both online and offline communication.
( Key takeaways )
- Launched a bilingual website focused on design and accessibility
- Structured product collections for storytelling and clarity
- Created consistent photography and presentation standards
- Supported early-stage brand positioning and marketing direction
[ Outcome ]
The new platform helped Pirate Art define its identity, tone, and public presentation.
With a simple, human-centered website and strong product storytelling, the brand made its mark as a creative bridge between design, art, and medical innovation.
“A small team with a big idea. We helped Pirate Art bring custom prosthetic covers to life online with a simple, multilingual site and a blueprint for their first campaigns.”
— Miloš Lukić, CEO of Creative Brackets
Pirate Art proves that technology and empathy can share the same language, and that design can give strength a visible form.
